Bible Study Followup

So glad you want to help!

Thank you for submitting your information.

While you wait to hear from Pastor Michaela or an Elder, please read through the following details.

How we get these names

The names we're getting are from an Adventist organization called SermonView. They've sent out a couple of ads on Facebook. Here's how they look.

What the leads have received already

Here is the the auto email that our contacts received along with a sample sign-up page they might see.

Hello,

There is no better time than today to start studying the Bible. In times of hurt, sadness, fear, and anxiety the Bible has proven to be a source of comfort and hope for millions.  Our hope is to simply share that gift with you. Our studies are free with no obligation or requirements.

In your journey to find purpose and hope, there are many places to start within the pages of God’s word. That’s why a local Bible team member will be contacting you soon to best answer your needs. The conversation will be short and is solely intended to find out which studies will best suit you.

This contact may come by email or phone, so please keep a lookout from a volunteer from "My Free Bible Study".

We could all use a little hope and love in these unprecedented times. We pray that learning more about God’s word will be a blessing to you and bring peace to your soul.

Blessings,
The Family from My Free Bible Study

Interest Tracker

There's a website we use to keep track of each person. It's called Interest Tracker. We'll add your name to this and send you names of people through this site. To get a sense of how this works, watch this training from March 1.  https://www.dropbox.com/s/7oegvpairvnbxdx/GCC_Leads.mp4?dl=0

There are also online training videos that you might find useful, https://interesttracker.org/training/.

I only want to help with data entry.

No problem! We'll get you set up on Interest Tracker, too. Then we'll have those who need your help give you a call when they need to update their interest's information. You can still read the rest of the information below so that you're in the loop.

What do I say?

Here's the script that our Bible Instructor team would recommend for email, text, and phone call versions.  This is just a suggestion, you are welcome to use your own approach, or get inspired from ours.

The Approach:

The leads that you’re getting from the SermonView online ads responded to an offer of free Bible studies.  The ads were of a more neutral type, not ideal for prophecy studies (although some might be interested in prophecy).  They would probably respond best to a short and caring conversation that gets them the promised Bible studies.

You can first offer them the Bible study lessons/guides (either my mail or email), then let them know that you’ll be in touch.  Some will be ready for a personal Bible study coach/tutor, while for others you would let them know you’ll be in touch periodically to pray with them and be available to answer any questions (a personal Bible study can be offered later when they’re ready).

Scripts:

Here are the five recommended scripts depending on your approach method (email, text, or phone call):

1. EMAIL:

Hello ____ (their name),

My name is ______ (your name), I am a volunteer with My Free Bible Study.  Recently you signed up for free Bible studies and I am reaching out to set that up for you.

I can either mail or email you the lessons.  Which would you prefer?

I am also a personal Bible coach, so I can be available for any questions and can review any of the Bible studies with you as needed.

Also what are some of your prayer requests so I can pray for you more specifically?

I look forward to hearing from you.  You can also call/text me at ________(your number).

Blessings,

(your name)

Personal Bible Coach

My Free Bible Study

2. TEXT AFTER AN EMAIL HAS BEEN SENT:

Hi ____ (their name).  My name is ___ (your name) with My Free Bible Study. I wanted to let you know that I emailed you today with information about your request. If you prefer, we can text or talk on the phone about your options.

3. TEXT ONLY:

(wait for them to text back)

Your 2nd text:

Ok great, I’ll get those to you right away.  What are some of your prayer requests so I can pray for you more specifically?

(wait for them to text back)

Your 3rd text:

Thank you for sharing, I’ll be praying for you.  I am also a personal Bible coach, so I can be available for any questions and can help with any of the Bible studies as needed.  I’ll send you the lessons right away, and we’ll be in touch.

4. PHONE:

Great.  I am also a personal Bible coach, and I’ll check in with you periodically to see if you have any questions.  We can even review them together over the phone.

Before I go, I was wondering if you have any prayer requests that I can pray for.  (Wait for response and short conversation).  Is it ok if we pray right now?   (Pray).

I will text you my contact information so that you can keep in touch as needed.

God bless and I’ll get these lessons to you right away.

(then text them your contact info)

5. VOICEMAIL (only leave a message after a couple of attempts of calling or texting):

Which Bible study?

There are so many! Once you talk with an Elder or Pastor Michaela, you'll get all these details.

https://www.bibleresearch.info/ -- great for viewing option as well as CD and DVD

https://bibleschools.com/1531 -- great for someone who's comfortable online. Teachers can track students progress. Also comes in paper format.

https://truthlink.org/ -- online but not for teacher access. Also comes in paper format.

https://itiswritten.study/home -- online but not for teacher access. no video option

https://www.amazingfacts.org/media-library/search-by-collection -- has video and paper options.

Now...

Jot down any questions you may have so that when Pastor Michaela or an Elder calls, you can share those questions. They'll also review everything above one more time.

Thank you!

There's nothing like helping someone else get a step closer to seeing God as love. Thank you for making time for it.
